THE HAPPY HORSE FOUNDATION LTD provides a comprehensive suite of programs and services dedicated to the welfare of rescued horses and the promotion of responsible equine care. Our core offerings include:
Rescue & Intake: We respond to reports of neglected, abused, abandoned, or at-risk horses, assessing their immediate needs and providing safe transportation to our facility. Each horse undergoes a thorough intake process upon arrival.
Veterinary Care & Rehabilitation: Upon intake, every horse receives immediate and ongoing veterinary attention, including health assessments, vaccinations, deworming, dental care, and farrier services. We develop individualized rehabilitation plans addressing physical injuries, illnesses, and nutritional deficiencies.
Behavioral Assessment & Training: Our team conducts comprehensive behavioral assessments to understand each horse's temperament and past experiences. We then implement tailored training programs, ranging from basic handling and groundwork to more advanced re-education, aimed at building trust and preparing them for rehoming.
Nutritional Support: We provide customized feeding regimes based on each horse's age, health, and activity level, ensuring they receive the appropriate nutrition for recovery and long-term well-being.
Rehoming & Adoption Program: Our ultimate goal is to find loving, permanent homes for our rescued horses. We meticulously screen potential adopters, conduct home checks, and facilitate a careful matching process to ensure horses are placed in suitable environments. We also provide post-adoption support.
Community Education & Outreach: We are committed to raising awareness about responsible horse ownership, equine welfare issues, and the signs of neglect or abuse. We may offer workshops, informational sessions, and online resources to educate the public and prevent future cases of cruelty.
Sanctuary Care (Limited): For horses with chronic health issues, advanced age, or severe behavioral challenges that make them unadoptable, we strive to provide a safe and compassionate sanctuary environment for the remainder of their lives, ensuring their ongoing comfort and care.
Volunteer & Foster Programs: We actively engage volunteers who contribute their time and skills to daily horse care, facility maintenance, and administrative tasks. We also aim to develop a foster program to expand our capacity and provide temporary homes for horses in rehabilitation.
